Plague Coffee

I hadn’t ordered anything from a brick-and-mortar Starbucks since the Plague became real to me in mid-March. (Context: prior to March, I spent about $50 over the course of the month at various Starbucks stores for coffee and baked goodies on-the-go.) Apart from the fact that most Starbucks were closed for in-store business until recently, the real pivot point for me was that I discovered a bag of ground Starbucks Morning Joe at Stop & Shop. Morning Joe strikes just the right balance of strength and flavor for me, and after a certain amount of tinkering with proportions of coffee to water, I found my sweet spot.

Bags of Morning Joe at Stop & Shop were $10 and occasionally $8 on sale. A bag lasts for almost two weeks for me, so my cost of coffee by the cup is significantly lower than buying an in-store cup.

A Subscribe-And-Save commitment purchase on Amazon Prime knocked the price down to six dollars and change, and that’s the route I’ve gone now.

(NOTE: it is now late November and Morning Joe still gets it done for me every day.)
